...somebody asked to take a picture with me, Devin and/or David.

I'm not complaining, mind you. But living in a world where I'm a giant compared to the locals and David is "cute" in the minds of the locals, and Devin is exotic makes life interesting. When we're in the less touristy parts of Thailand - such as where we live now in SriRacha - we often get stopped by people who want to take a picture with us.

Just today, David and I were eating dinner at McDonalds. Yes. We ate at McDonalds. Don't hate. When David was walking to the play area, he got practically accosted by a college-age woman that wanted to take her picture with David. So for a few mintutes, she got David to pose with her while she made various smily faces, peace signs, etc. After that, David went and played for a few minutes. She then went over to the play area to get a few more pictures.

We get stared at a lot. We get lots of looks from people that then rush to get their friend/husband/wife to look at us also. Lots of kids don't know what to think of me, all big and bald walking next to them or standing in line with them. Then I freak them out even more when I drop some Thai on them. Of course, my pronunciation is often horrible. But the response is often, "Ooooooh! Geng Mak!!" (Translated: Holy cow, the big farang speaks a little Thai! Very good!)

I wonder what life will be like in Romania. I doubt we'll be the novelty there that we are here. And quite frankly, I'm not sure how I feel about that. Check back in six months and I'll have an answer for you.
