I think I've already posted about this...but it was quite a while ago.

For those of you that might be worried about us...don't.  We live quite a distance away from Bangkok where a great majority of the protesting, etc. is going on.  The biggest issue right now is the closure of the major entrance into Thailand...the Bankok Airport.  We live over an hour from the airport, so we really aren't affected by all of this.  However, we fly out of the country in December for our winter vacation, so if things are still crazy at that point, we'll start to worry.

This series of protests has certainly been violent at times, which seems to go against the typical cultural and moral norms of the people of Thailand.  The fact that it's gotten this bad shows the depth of the differences for those involved.  As an expat living here, I don't really participate in anything related to the political process (I'm not allowed to vote, buy property, etc.) but I have friends that are involved in the debate on both sides.  I don't want to get into that...

But just know that in general, I still feel incredibly safe here in Thailand.  It's a wonderful country with great people.  There just happens to be some unrest.  These too shall pass.
