Romania
Introduction
On August 5th,
2010 we arrived in Bucharest, Romania to start work at the American
International School of Bucharest. I will be teaching IB Chemistry in the high
school, David will be starting 3rd grade, and Devin will continue her
amazing and much under-appreciated job of house manager. (She might also do
some work at school…that’s yet to be determined.) This page will chronicle, in
some fashion, our lives in Romania. As intrepid world travelers, I will
continue to post on our Travel Page any
significant trips we make. Therefore, this page will focus on anything within
Romania. I’m not sure how I’ll organize things yet, so bear with me. In
Thailand, I started with reports of the first few days, then cut back to focus
on major issues, while blogging
about more “everyday” stuff. I’ll probably continue in a similar pattern,
except you won’t see here the massive focus on the first few days. Since this
is our second time moving to a country previously unknown to us, we feel like
veterans. The massive amount of “jaw wide open, chin on the ground” adjustments
just didn’t happen. Don’t get me wrong. We’re still incredibly excited to learn
new things in Romania. It’s just not quite as ground-breaking as Thailand,
since we’ve done this once before.
So follow
along as you can. And as always, feel free to drop us an email to say hello.
